With a focus on cultural sensitivity, this session supports best practices, offering practical strategies for educators to implement AI tools responsibly, ensuring an inclusive and engaging art education environment.
Responsive practices in the art room help guide behavior and instruction. Using my experience as a positive behavior facilitator for my school and the book "Responsive Classroom for Music, PE, and Art and other special areas" as a resource. We will discuss how to: open/close each class in a positive way; Set students up for success by modeling and practicing skills and routines; Use positive teacher language; Engage students more deeply; Respond to misbehavior to get students back to learning.
Have you been looking for a free drawing program that can be used on Chromebooks? Sketchpad may be the answer for you! Many students in our schools use Chromebook. We can expand our students' ideas of drawing and creating by introducing them to Sketchpad. This can be used in elementary and beyond. Students can receive an introduction with this program and then move on to other drawing programs and devices such as drawing tablets. Participants should Bring Their Own Device - iPad, Chromebook, etc.
This workshop will guide participants through the creation of several artist book forms. Additional attention will be given to the design and appearance and craftsmanship of several book forms and creative paper design processes.
The workshop will teach you how to get your students to apply the Elements & Principles of Art with a Rule of Thirds composition and create an artwork expressing emotions/feelings that represents them. (1st semester about summer, 2nd about school. Slideshows will be provided. In addition a showcase video will show the works created in Spring of 2024. The workshop can apply to all ages, but it is best with middle schoolers and older. Mixed media is encouraged. Participants can bring anything they would like to use.
Learn the art of traditional Ukrainian egg decorating known as Pysanky (PIH-sahn-kih). Attendees will have the opportunity to decorate 2-3 goose eggs during this session.
